Week 35 You Are Covered
S: Psalms 91:1 (NKJV)
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty –
O: There is a not-so-hidden secret that is available to us. Sometimes the things we miss are the things “hidden in plain sight”. The bible also says that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe (Proverbs 18:10). Most of us have read or heard these popular passages many times over. Perhaps with repetition l the truth and power of these words fade into the background noise of life. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you should know better but you still feel overwhelmed by what you are facing? Well, our focus scripture in fact the whole chapter explains to us that we are covered by God. It is when we choose to “hang out” or stay in this secret place in a real and tangible way that we truly feel the benefit of God’s covering and experience true rest. In God (inside, enveloped in or surrounded by Him) we find rest, peace, joy and loads more in spite of what we might be facing. This gives us a great advantage when having to operate in less than ideal circumstances. Whatever you might find yourself going through, take heart whilst meditating on this scripture and be reminded today that God has got you covered. Practice the art of hiding yourself in Him every day. So before you run anywhere else let’s run to Him where we are guaranteed shelter.
A: Simply put, run to God first.
P: Lord, thank you for being a source of strength, help and peace to me. I hide myself in you, confident that you cover me on every side. Teach me to abide in you especially in the challenging times of life.
