Week 41 Unity Within Teams
O: The interesting thing about this scripture is the order in which things are laid out
1) The trumpeters and singers were as one (Relationship)
2) Make one sound (Sound of our hearts)
3) Lifted their voice and praised the Lord (Make music)
4) The house of the Lord was filled with a cloud. (Glory of God)
It starts with the whole music team being unified (as one)! Psalm 133:1 says “how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” As creatives, when we come together, it is easy to feel that our priority is to focus on making good music. What we see prescribed here, however, is that to experience the type/level of Glory seen in the scripture, oneness in our relationship with one another is paramount! Before we start making music, we must make sure that first, we are “as one”. In reality, this doesn’t mean that you will be ‘besties’ with everyone but there shouldn’t be any malice and there must be love. This would mean an active and conscious effort to understand others, build relationships and work out any differences as and when they arise. Love must reign!
A: Evaluate your relationships within the teams you are a part of and choose to actively and consciously make an effort to understand others, build relationships and work out any differences as and when they arise.
P: Lord, thank you for the opportunity to serve you with my gift. Help me to build and nurture the relationships with those I serve with.
