S: Matt 6:11

Give us this day our daily bread 

O: God so wants us to commune with Him daily that when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, these were some of the words that came. Give us this day (today) our daily bread. Have you ever wondered why was it only for one day? I mean He is almighty after all! God could give us our yearly bread, quarterly bread or at least monthly bread!!! The Lord’s daily call to us speaks to His desire to speak with us regularly and at the top of the day as well. It is quite interesting when you piece it all together; He wants us to ask Him for our daily bread (provision). It only makes sense to ask for something you need for daily sustenance at the beginning of the day. What use would it be at the end of the day?! The scriptures are so amazing and cleverly written and rich enough to instruct us on best practices for every area of life. Clearly, the need to speak to God daily and at the start of our day is of great importance! There we find all we need to get through our day!

A: Allocate some time to speak to God at the top of your day every day. Even if you have to do it whilst in the shower. Make the time and be consistent with it. You will be glad you did!

P: Lord, thank you so much for loving me so much. I am sorry I haven’t always put our relationship in the right place in my life. Lord help me navigate and put aside the distractions of this world so that I can commune with you daily.
