Week 25: Iron Sharpens Iron

S: As iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens [and influences] another [through discussion]. Proverbs 27:17 Amp

O: I once heard it put like this, “You are the sum total of the five people you spend the most time with.” In other words, the people you spend the most time with have the power to influence your thoughts and in turn who you become. 1 Cor 15:33 (AMP) puts it like this, “Do not be deceived, bad company corrupts good morals.” The opposite of this is also true. When you look in the mirror, do you like who you see? If you don’t like who you see, you have the power to change by making the decision to change your environment/the people you hang out with.

A: Make a list of the people/environments you hang out in at the moment and evaluate them. Ask yourself this question, ‘Am I better with or without these people?’ If the latter is the case, perhaps a change of environment is required.

P: Lord please help me be more discerning about the people I should have in my space. Give me the strength to walk away from toxic people and environments I might already be in and order my steps to good company.
