Week 52 - He Loves you Too Much to leave you hanging!
S: Luke 15:7
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!
O: For some reason, the “sin” police amongst us have the tendency to misrepresent God and how He deals with sin and His children! Think about the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) and how his brother felt when their father celebrated his own return. The “righteous” brother complained bitterly about what he had now convinced himself wasn’t fair or even right! God doesn’t condone sin but He loves us so much that He creates multiple opportunities to win us back when we stray. Our Father fights for us to the extent that He gave His only Son so that we could have eternal life. All we need is just to believe in Him (John 3:16). This is who God is and the story is an example of His redemptive nature! Another example of this was when Jesus predicted Peter would betray Him.
Luke 22:31 -32
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”
If you have strayed or feel disconnected, He wants you back and He doesn’t condemn you! He is a good father and He loves you too much and will never leave you hanging out to dry. You must bypass the self-appointed custodians of God’s mercy and run directly to Him. He wants you back NOW!
A: If this resonates with you, make a decision to turn to him now. STOP whatever you are doing right now and talk (pray) to Him!
P: Lord I am sorry for straying away from you. Thank you for Loving me so much. I submit to your will and your way from this moment on. Take control of me and come and be the centre of my life!
