Week 31 God Sees You
S: 1 Sam 16:11(NLT)
11 Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.
O: Sometimes when what you do is not immediately or ever acknowledged, it can feel like nobody really sees you, perhaps even including God. Worst of all, you can be left feeling that you have been forgotten! That couldn’t be further from the truth! God sees everything and He never forgets.
In a world governed by appearances, it can be really hard to be authentically you and do what you love without fussing over how it looks, and even harder when ‘personal branding’ is not your area of strength. Managing how things look is fast becoming the place where most of our energy flows! More and more we are putting a lot of strategy into positioning ourselves so that we can be chosen because we believe that is how to be seen. This scripture shows us first that we are always seen and known by God. It also illustrates perfectly when God says it is our time to break through, nothing can get in the way, not even our appearance (or lack of it!). Imagine this, when Samuel met David, he wouldn’t have had time to clean up which means he probably smelt like the sheep and goats he was taking care of! Be encouraged! At your appointed times, you will not be missed! God always sees us.
A: Be consistent with what God has put in your hands both in and out of the spotlight. You won’t and can’t go wrong with His direction and strategy because He has the whole picture in view.
P: Lord thank you for always seeing me! Help me focus on and value how you want me to be over how the world says I should look.
